Now is a good time to start a new hobby – Join the Guides and Scouts

A wonderful hobby for kids who are new to Finland and families who are looking to integrate to the local community and culture. The best time to join guiding and scouting is now! New groups for kids and young people are starting in August and in September all around Finland. All our activities are run by volunteers, and new adults are always welcome to start volunteering with us.

Guiding and Scouting is both local and global hobby and an international youth movement. Everyone’s welcome here. All genders, races and backgrounds. The essence of this hobby is engaging in a diverse assortment of activities together with others and interacting with a wide variety of people. In scouting, you build a relationship with nature, gain local and international experiences and meet new friends.

This is one of the more affordable and versatile hobbies in Finland. The annual membership fee is around 100 euros. Scout groups usually meet once a week. In addition, the group goes on various trips both near and far. There are additional affordable fees for camps/trips/hikes. Guides and scouts do indeed go camping, hiking, swimming, cycling and canoeing, but they also get to hang out with their friends every week – having fun, playing games, working in a team and taking on new challenges.
